Jeff Van Gundy: Only one way Cavs have any chance to beat Warriors

Before the playoffs started, Jeff Van Gundy said that the Warriors are going to win the championship and that, "it won't be close."

On Wednesday, he was asked if he still feels that way.

"I know some people don't agree, but I just don't see anybody giving Golden State a run or to putting enough pressure on them to ever feel like this is in doubt," Van Gundy said on the Lowe Post Podcast.

The Warriors typically start the second and fourth quarters with a lineup of Ian Clark, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green and David West.

This unit is Golden State's second most used this postseason (61 minutes) and is a combined minus-2.

"I think that would be the only chance Cleveland would have -- is play James (LeBron) these extraordinary minutes, make up points when Durant and Curry sit out and try to hold your own in the other minutes," Van Gundy explained. "Because if they (the Warriors) then match and put Durant at 40 minutes, and Curry at 40 minutes, I'm not sure where you have a chance to win a game."

Minutes per game so far during the playoffs -- Draymond (35.4), Steph Curry (34.4), Klay (34.4), Durant (32.0), Iguodala (28.4).

LeBron is playing 42.4 minutes per night.

"I can see how you would construct a game, and put together a game, that could beat them in a game," Van Gundy said. "The thing that I don't understand is -- how could they lose four times?

"I just don't see it happening, minus an an incident, an injury, or this confluence of events that I can't really fathom."
