Lacob has ‘slight preference' for trilogy with Cavs in NBA Finals

The Warriors have punched their ticket to the 2017 NBA Finals.

Now they must wait for the winner of the Cavs-Celtics series.

Warriors owner Joe Lacob wasn't shy about which team he wants to come out of the East.

"I don't care who we play. Okay, maybe a slight preference for Cleveland. Only because I feel we have some unfinished business from last season," Lacob said after the Warriors beat the Spurs in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Monday night.

Lacob referenced last year's NBA Finals in which the 73-win Warriors blew a 3-1 series lead to the Cavs in the Finals.

"We were the better team but they did win. We need a chance to go in there and prove that," Lacob said.

The Warriors are the first team in NBA history to win the first 12 games of the postseason, but the accomplishment doesn't matter to Lacob.

"That’s obviously nice. But it doesn’t matter if you win 4-3, 4-2, 4-0. Point is to get there and play for the championship and then we start over," he said.

The Cavs currently lead the series 2-1 over the Celtics. Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night in Cleveland.

No matter how long the Eastern Conference Finals go, the NBA Finals will begin Thursday, June 1 in Oakland.
