LOS ANGELESAccording to a report by Yahoo! Sports, theWarriors have emerged as aggressive suitors for Orlando Magic center DwightHoward. The report indicated the Warriors would be willing to partwith either Stephen Curry or Monta Ellis and also that they would be willing toacquire Howard without a guarantee he would re-sign in Golden State.Howard can exercise an early termination option on hiscontract and become a free agent at the end of the season.Orlando Magic general manager Otis Smith, responding to atext message, indicated the team is not close to a deal for Howard and arentlooking to move him.
When asked at the Warriors team hotel about the report,Golden State general manager Larry Riley said: I think its obvious that ourownership would like to come up with a superstar to add to this team. Wellalways look into opportunities where someone might be available. It is unknown how the Magic feel about either Curry orEllis, however it seems likely that Currys current ankle situation wouldcomplicate any potential deal. Curry has sprained his ankle three times in sixgames this season, including two preseason games.
