The reason Bell gained even more respect for Draymond after meeting him

Jordan Bell hasn't played a minute of professional basketball.

Yet the comparisons between the rookie and Draymond Green have been pouring in for weeks.

Speaking to Anthony Slater on the Warriors All-82 podcast, Bell talked about meeting Draymond for the first time.

"I say I’m 6-9, 6-10, but I’m really like 6-8. So I’m thinking he’s around the same height. I meet him and I’m like towering over this dude," Bell explained. "But it made me gain so much more respect because I’m like 'he’s smaller than what I thought' -- he’s not the biggest, buffest guy out there, he's not the tallest -- but he’s the Defensive Player of the Year.

"He still gets it done somehow, someway."

Shortly after the Warriors drafted Bell, Draymond and the rookie "met" over FaceTime.

A couple days later, they went out to dinner in the Bay Area.

"We didn't really talk about much basketball," Bell revealed. "Just about life. Trying to get to know me, me getting to know him. Asking (about) girlfriend, kids ... Oregon, college, high school ... stuff like that. Nike, talked about Nike a lot ... he was talking to me about that because we have people we both know at Nike."

Draymond -- who without shoes on measured in below 6'6" at the 2012 NBA Draft Combine -- recently took home Defensive Player of Year honors after two straight runner-up finishes.

Bell -- who without shoes on measured in at 6'7" at the 2017 NBA Draft Combine -- was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year last season.
