Warriors owner Joe Lacob has made no secret of his interest in potentially bringing the Warriors to San Francisco, and a report late Thursday suggests he is beginning to get serious about the prospect.

Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Warriors met Wednesday with San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and and Giants CEO Larry Baer to discuss the idea of building a new Warriors arena near AT&T Park. According to the report, Mayor Lee is encouraging the Giants and Warriors to explore the feasibility of building a facility just south of the Giants' ballpark.
The Warriors' lease in Oakland runs through 2017. The team began playing some home games at what is now Oracle Arena since 1966, and began continuous play in Oakland since 1971.Stay logged on to CSNBayArea.com as the Warriors arena story develops, and tune in to SportsNet Central each night at 6, 10:30pm and midnight for all the day's news on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
