Solid results for aching Warriors in scrimmage, ‘I kind of expect…'

OAKLAND -- Though they have not been thwarted by their ever-expanding injury list, the Warriors are hopeful reinforcements could arrive this weekend.

Maybe as soon as Friday night, when they take a 10-game win streak into a game against the Lakers at Oracle Arena.

Forward Draymond Green and center Zaza Pachulia, starters who have been out of the lineup since Dec. 8, both participated in a light scrimmage Thursday and coach Steve Kerr left open the possibility of one or both returning on Friday.

“It looks good for Draymond,” Kerr said. “I would probably still list him as questionable . . . Draymond wanted to play (Wednesday) night. He probably was healthy enough to play, but we hadn’t seen any live action since the (Dec. 8) Detroit game, so we weren’t going to play him without some scrimmaging.

“I kind of expect him to play tomorrow. But we’ll have to wait and see how it turns up tomorrow morning.”

Green has been experiencing soreness in his right shoulder since Oct. 29, when he and teammate JaVale McGee, both attempting to block a shot, tumbled beneath the basket and McGee landed on Green’s shoulder. After getting hit a few more times in the ensuing weeks, Green finally conceded to sitting for good after Dec. 8.

Pachulia aggravated the soreness in his left shoulder on Dec. 6 and has missed the last five games. He has participated in drills this week.

“Things seemed to go well for him in the scrimmage,” Kerr said.

Meanwhile, neither reserve guard Shaun Livingston (left knee soreness) or Sixth Man Andre Iguodala (flu) participated Thursday. Iguodala is questionable for Friday and Livingston is doubtful.

As for Stephen Curry, he continued to do light individual drills in advance of his right ankle being reevaluated next week. Until then, he is not expected to practice with the team, Kerr said.
