‘Things can change' — Myers tells story about Curry's mindset for Christmas

Steph Curry really wants to play against the Cavs on Christmas Day.

On Wednesday afternoon, Warriors general manager Bob Myers was on 95.7 The Game and shared a story about a conversation he had with Curry earlier on Wednesday.

"What's going on in your head?" Myers asked Curry. "And this is Steph (laughing). He goes "Monday.' And I go, 'Monday -- Christmas Monday? Or a week from Monday, because Christmas Monday is inside our evaluation period?' And he said, 'Yeah, I know. But things can change.'

"So, he's in a good place. I don't think that's happening just so you know. I hope I didn't set off some alarms there. I don't think he's playing on Christmas. In his own mind, I think that was a date he wanted, which is natural.

"But it's just not the right thing to do."

On Tuesday evening, the Warriors announced that Curry would be reevaluated in a week.

"Why wouldn't I play if I'm 100 percent?" Curry said to The Athletic's Marcus Thompson on Tuesday night.

And as Thompson wrote: Curry knows he won’t play if he isn’t 100 percent. But he isn’t ruling out being 100 percent by Christmas Day.

Based on Myers' comments and the Warriors' cautious approach -- do not expect Curry to take the floor against Cleveland...
