Oubre describes conversation he wants to have with Draymond

Kelly Oubre officially became a member of the Warriors on Sunday when the trade between Golden State and the Oklahoma City Thunder was finalized.

The 24-year-old most likely will share the court with Draymond Green quite a bit, so it will be important for those two to be on the same page.

How does Oubre think he will mesh with the three-time NBA All-Star?

"I mean, we’re both fiery cats on the court. We’re both competitors," Oubre told The Athletic's David Aldridge during a Sunday night phone conversation. "So I just feel like we can push each other.

"I want to have a conversation with him, of course, just to let him know, ‘Bro, you can come at me. Like you can get on my a-- and tell me that I need to be better, or I need to do better, and I won’t take it personally.’ Because I understand that that’s what it takes to win.

"And I just look forward to the same energy of me being able to lead and just push guys to be their best selves. So I’m excited. Draymond’s a winner, man. I’m excited to win."

Draymond is a three-time NBA champion, and the Warriors will need him and Oubre to have sensational seasons in order to make some serious noise in the loaded Western Conference.

Oubre was on a really good Washington Wizards team that lost to the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the 2017 Eastern Conference semifinals. But he has never been on a squad with expectations like the Warriors have.

It sounds like he already is embracing the opportunity.

"I just want them to realize that I’m bought in, and as we continue to grow closer in that relationship, that we can seamlessly just fit together," Oubre told Aldridge. "I feel like this group of people, they already understand who they are as people. I understand who I am as an individual.

"So I obviously am, still, the loving rager that everybody grows to love because of my intensity. So I just feel like I don’t see a lot of that here, other than Draymond’s fiery attitude.

"I know for sure all I can do is be myself, and they’ll grow to love me, too."
