Former Browns and Jets coach Eric Mangini is joining ESPN as an NFL studioanalyst, the network has announced.Mangini, who coached in Cleveland for two years after three seasons in NewYork, will appear on several ESPN programs as well as ESPN Radio shows. Thenetwork says Thursday that Mangini, fired by the Browns after last season, willstart on Aug. 17.He worked as a guest analyst for ESPN during the NFL playoffs lastpostseason. Seth Markman, ESPNs senior coordinating producer for NFL studioshows, says Mangini is one of the smartest football people Ive ever beenaround.Never particularly candid or colorful, Mangini jokingly says hes perfectfor TV: With my reputation for access and ease with the media, it seems like anatural fit.
