Belichick on Polite: ‘We'll see how it goes'

FOXBORO -- The Patriots announced on Tuesday that they signed veteran fullback Lousaka Polite, and on Wendesday, Bill Belichick said he sees Polite being used in a fullback and special teams capacity, while warning that he's yet to see him even practice with the team.

"We'll see how it goes," said Belichick. "I've never coached him before, so we'll get a feel for him, what he can do."

Polite, 30, is a veteran of seven NFL seasons, and was cut by the Miami Dolphins at the end of training camp in early September. He's yet to play a game this season, and that's why Belichick seemed unsure as to what he'll bring to the Patriots this late in the season.

"We haven't even been on the field with him yet," said Belichick. "So I'm not sure what he allows us to do. We'll see. Obviously we're hopeful. That's why he's here."
