Bruins move Saturday start time to 7 p.m.

BOSTON -- With the blizzard not forecast to end until Saturday afternoon, the Bruins announced moments ago that the starting time for tomorrow's game against the Lightning has been moved from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

It's not surprising that the game is being moved back six hours and not postponed, since the Bruins and Lightning are both in Boston. And a season with a 48-game condensed schedule means neither team has a lot of wiggle room to reschedule before the end of the season in April.

This situation, however, pales to one Bruins coach Claude Julien experienced when he was member of the Moncton Hawks.

I was on a team in Moncton back in 1991-92 where they broke the record with five feet, six feet of snow that came down," he recalled Friday. "The whole town was closed and I think our trainers were stuck in the rink for a couple of days eating out of the concession stands. Nothing like a good hot dog, right?

"I had just made it out myself and made it back home because it was a morning skate, but I had to plow through snow myself. But it was interesting. The only thing that could clear the streets was pay-loaders because there was too much snow for the plows. That was an interesting storm.

The Bruins are hoping this one isn't nearly as "interesting".
