Bruins sign Peverley to 3-year extension

The Bruins announced that they have signed forward Rich Peverley to a three-year contract extension that will keep the 29-year-old forward in Boston through the 2014-15 season.

According to ESPN.com, Peverley's cap hit will reportedly be 3.25 million starting next season.

Peverley was acquired from the Atlanta Thrashers last season along with defenseman Boris Valabik for Mark Stuart and Blake Wheeler. In the playoffs, Peverley had 4 goals and 8 assists for the Bruins during their Stanley Cup run.

In his career, Peverley has been part of 276 regular season games with Boston, Atlanta and Nashville. In those games he has tallied 60 goals and 91 assists totaling 151 points.

This season, Peverley is leading the Bruins with two goals in three games.
