CSNNE.comDENVERHere are five thoughts from the third period with the Bruins taking a 6-2 win over the Avalanche at Pepsi Center after 60 minutes of largely one-sided play in the Mile High City.1)A goal, two assists and seven shots on net for Patrice Bergeron todayincluding a sweet goal from his knees that bounced off the skate of John Michael-Liles on its way past the goal line. Another marvelous game from the Bs best player right now.2)Ryan OByrne was routinely bad against the Bruins during his time as a Canadiens defenseman, and he was a minus-2 against the Bruins with plenty of mistakes. Michael-Liles finished as a minus-4. The Avs arent quite ready for prime time.3)Very rarely have the Bruins had all four lines going in the same game, but there was definitely some of that against the Avalanche today.4)Outstanding stops by Tim Thomas at the beginning of the third period that kept the Avalanche at bay when they had their final last gasp effort against the Bruinsthe exact job that a goaltender needs to perform in a game like this afternoon.5)The Bruins had only one giveaway in the entire game: thats called managing the puck and being strong on the puck. When the Bs play as they did this afternoon, they are very difficult to beat.
