BruinsDevils: 5 from the First

CSNNE.comNEWARKHere are five thoughts from the first period with the Bruins and Devils tied at 1-1 at the Prudential Center following 20 minutes of irrelevant hockey.1)Two goals in two games for Rich Peverley, and a hot streak from Bostons third line offensive playmaker couldnt come at a better time. Peverley will be a key part of Bostons offensive attack in the postseason given the way he can attack the net and create his own offense.2)Nordiques Nation is visiting the Prudential Center today and has literally taken over the building while filling the upper balcony at New Jerseys home rink. Theyre blowing air horns, spontaneously clapping at random times during the game and generally taking over the proceedings. Just shows how much they care about getting an NHL franchise back in Quebec, and how much they really deserve a hockey team. Make it so, Bettman. My guess: the Thrashers franchise ends up in Quebec in the next couple of years.3)Adding to the Quebec intrigue, the Nordiques Nation will present Tim Thomas with his Quebec Draft Day sweater that he never received as a ninth-round pick during the 1994 draft following the game. Thats pretty cool.4)Looks like Tuukka Rask has permanently ditched that new mask he tried out in the middle of the year. Its back to the oldie but goodie.5)The Devils are all over the Bruins in a sleepy regular season finale, but the Bs are hanging in there despite the games sheer irrelevancy.
