CSNNE.comUNIONDALE, N.Y.Here are five thoughts from the second period of BruinsIslanders at Nassau Coliseum with the Bs leading the Isles by a 6-2 score after 40 minutes of action on Long Island.1)Sad, pathetic display by the Islanders in between the pipes. Al Montoya managed to calm things down when he entered the game in the second period, but Nathan Lawson looked like a complete mess in the first and second period. Once Rick DiPietro had his face broken by a Brent Johnson punch, the Isles were cooked for the rest of the season trying to win with minor league goaltending.2)Tuukka Rask looking rusty in tonights game against the Islanders, but it helped immensely that he had ample room to make mistakes. He was beaten to his glove hand twice for Islanders goalsone by Tavares that he should have stopped, and another to Josh Bailey that was a missileand finally seemed to catch his stride midway through the second period. Bruins defense still allowing some good opportunities after talking about tightening up their defense after allowing 20 goals in last 4 games. Didnt look like that was the case tonight.3)Patrice Bergeron has broken two sticks tonight, and has snapped a countless number of twigs over the last month. Perhaps its time for Bergeron to move away from the Reebok sticks and find another endorsement deal elsewhere. The consensus seems to be Bauer.4)A goal and an assist for Tyler Seguin, who has hit double digits in goals for the season and played very well in each game since his two-game stretch of healthy scratches. The goal and assist amount to his third multi-point game of the season, and his first since January. It appears that Seguin is finally seeing the light in his rookie season as playing time is about to get precious with Chris Kelly set to hit the Bs roster tomorrow in Ottawa.5)A team-high five shots on net for David Krejci and two points for the Czech Republic center thats really doing a good job of getting his game completely together. That little kick pass from his skate to Milan Lucic for the power play goal in the second was the perfect example of Krejci's quick mind and creativity when they're both working together at a high level.
