CSNNE.comOTTAWAHere are five thoughts from the third period with the Bruins taking a 4-2 win over the Senators at Scotiabank Place after 60 minutes of hockey between the two new look teams.1)Nine points in nine games for Nathan Horton, who looks like hes trying everything he can to get back into the hot zone he was living in earlier this season. Potting a game-winning goal on a night that looked destined for the shootout was a good way to keep that going. The two-minute penalty for holding with eight minutes to go in the game might have Claude Julien moving for the Pepto Bismol after the game is over, however.2)Great game for Tuukka Rask, who deserved a heaping amount of credit for the victory. His post-to-post butterfly save on a 2-on-1 from Alex Kovalev to Nick Foligno was a thing of beauty. Looks like the rust is off Rask, and that bodes well for resting Tim Thomas properly down the stretch and into the postseason.3)Two assists for Andrew Ference in the win. He continues to 4)Liked Claude Juliens decision to leave Tomas Kaberle out for both power play units in the third period. He should see plenty of time on the PP and be used in a specialist sort of role to get things going on both units while utilizing one of his strengths as a player. His movement with and without the puck helped set things in motion for Dennis Seidenbergs power play goal that iced the game. That was an example of the power play working exactly at the precise moment that Boston needed it to. 5)Brad Marchand has two goals tonight and is just two goals away from being a 20-goal scorer. Who would have ever thought that possible at the beginning of the season for the pesky Marchand?
