CSNNE.comBOSTONHere are five thoughts from the third period with the Bruins falling to the San Jose Sharks by a 2-0 score after 60 minutes of gritty, defensive action at the TD Garden.1)Bruins needed to show will and toughness in the third period to scratch for a goal and get a point by taking it to overtime , but the Bruins didnt do it against a determined San Jose bunch.2)Zach Hamill went No. 8 and Logan Couture went No. 9 in the 2007 NHL Draft. Think the Bruins would like a do-over on that one? I do.3)Couture was a dominant player on the ice for San Jose while scoring the first period goal and playing physical along the boards and the forecheck all night long.4)Tim Thomas was sharp aside from Coutures first period backhander that eluded him, and that can be a challenge when a goalie doesnt see much consistent action as Thomas didnt on Saturday afternoon.5)The Bruins havent scored a power play goal since Marc Savard went down in Coloradoa factoid unearthed by CSNs Mike Giardiand thats the biggest spot well see Savards absence going forward.
