Brian Burke, the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, said on today's Felger and Mazz Show on 98.5 The Sports Hub that he and Peter Chiarelli, the general manager of the Boston Bruins, are talking trade.
No names were mentioned, but the Bruins' interest in defenseman Tomas Kaberle -- a four-time All-Star -- is well-known. Kaberle, who turns 33 in a few weeks, is the type of puck-moving defenseman that Boston needs. He has 3 goals and 33 assists in 56 games this season.
Fueling the Kaberle-to-Boston rumors: Sportsnet.ca reported that Kaberle will only waive his no-trade clause to come to the Bruins.
