Bruins and ex-Bruins congratulate Patriots on social media

It was the greatest game in Super Bowl history, and the New England Patriots' 34-28 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons cemented GOAT (Greatest of All-Time) status for the Patriots (fifth championship), quarterback Tom Brady (fourth Super Bowl MVP Award) and coach Bill Belichick (fifth Super Bowl title).

The Bruins showed their support for the Patriots on Friday by wearing Patriots gear after practice, with coach Claude Julien sporting a “Do Your Job” long-sleeve shirt in his post-practice press conference. Current Bruins players and ex-Bruins players also took to social media after the Patriots' miraculous comeback from a 28-3 deficit and paid their respects as both fans and appreciative professional athletes who know how difficult it is to get to the mountaintop.

They ranged from New Hampshire native Tim Schaller going with the simple “Tom Brady” tweet to big Patriots fan Milan Lucic expressing disappointment about missing the game while on a long flight from Montreal back to Edmonton on Sunday night.

Here’s a taste of the tweets from current and former B’s, with David Pastrnak also apparently playing a little video from wherever a large contingent of the Bruins players watched the game:
