Wednesday, Oct. 12: Will Chara be dealt at trade deadline?

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while excited like everybody else that hockey is finally here.

-- Tyler Seguin is ready to play a pivotal role for the Dallas after putting in seven months of work following his Achilles injury.

-- Mike Babcock joins the TSN crew for an NHL season preview, and says he’s optimistic about his Maple Leafs. Isn’t everybody at this point in the season?

-- A really heartwarming story on Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno making a $1 million donation to Boston Children’s Hospital.

-- Interesting to hear Wayne Gretzky say he probably wouldn’t have a place in today’s structured NHL game.

-- The NHL Insiders get together for their predictions at Sportsnet, and an overwhelming group of them think Michel Therrien is on the hot seat in Montreal

-- Some Habs predictions from the Wilde Man up in Montreal.

-- FOH (Friend of Haggs) Marc Spector says that it’s a perfect time to reset the Battle of Alberta with some new characters.

-- The Fourth Period Magazine staff also puts forth their predictions, including Dave Pagnotta predicting that Zdeno Chara will be the biggest name moved at the trade deadline. If the B's are out of the mix at the trade deadline, a Chara trade wouldn’t surprise me at all.

-- For something completely different: In his Patriots Report Card, CSN colleague Phil Perry says Tom Brady was all aces in his return last Sunday.
