Monday, May 9: Is Blues' best-kept secret now out?

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while wondering if it’s officially okay to discuss Jon Snow’s revival without people yelling “Spoilers!” across the Internet.

*Steve Ott is kind of a dirt bag on the ice, but it’s good to hear that he’s feeling well enough to play these days for the Blues after battling a colitis diagnosis/severely torn hamstring in April. He’s also a pleasure to deal with off the ice, so I guess that counts for something as well.

*This isn’t hockey-related, but I’m sure there are plenty of Canadian hockey fans peeved at Dwayne Wade for taking warm-up shots during the Canadian anthem. Enough talking about kind of guy you are or aren’t, Dwayne. Just say you’re sorry, you made a mistake and respect any country’s anthem next time.

*Jack Capuano hints that Travis Hamonic may be returning to the New York Islanders after wanting a trade to Western Canada for personal reasons last season.

*Guy Boucher had a good feeling after his interview with the Ottawa Senators, and that turned into a head coaching job for him this weekend.

*Good piece from Marc Spector about Colton Parayko, and how he’s become the best-kept secret in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues. Methinks he stopped becoming a secret during this spring’s playoff run, because he’s been brilliant many nights.

*PHT writer James O’Brien has some already calling for Marc-Andre Fleury to replace Matt Murray between the pipes in the Penguins/Capitals series.

*Barry Trotz says that the underachieving past in the playoffs is “irrelevant” to his Washington Capitals group.

*For something completely different: Marvel Studios cinema head Kevin Feige does a Q&A with a lot of interesting answers, including hinting that Scarlet Johansson/Black Widow may get her own movie in the next five years.
