Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while fully recommending the “Wonder Woman” movie, which was terrific in every way.
*Some bloggers around the Los Angeles Kings have identified the problem, and it sounds similar to what the Bruins were going through in their dry period out of the playoffs.
*Jonathan Drouin getting traded to the Montreal Canadiens could have a major ripple effect for the Habs for the rest of the summer. I will be interested to see how this works out for Montreal because Drouin is going to be asked to be a fully invested, two-way player if he wants to be the No. 1 center for Claude Julien’s team. I haven’t seen that kind of defense and 200-foot commitment from Drouin when I’ve watched him play as much as I’ve seen highlight-reel plays and clearly elite high-end offensive skill. I’ll be watching this closely because I think there will be bumps between the brilliant, young scoring center and the exacting, old-school hockey coach similar to what we saw with Julien and Tyler Seguin, who he never trusted as a center in Boston.
*The Hockey News says we can’t blame players that refuse to waive their no-movement clause for the expansion draft, and I fully agree with them.
*The low arrest numbers at the victory parade for the Pittsburgh Penguins suggest it might have been the most peaceful Cup celebration ever.
*Congrats to the legendary Phil Housley, who takes over as coach of the Buffalo Sabres with a lot of work in front of him.
*If the Buffalo News were allowed to be Buffalo Sabres “GM for the day”, here is what they would do in short order.
Boston Bruins
*Phil Kessel isn’t a loser, you guys. And anybody that says so is a big, stinky loser for being mean to poor Phil the Thrill.
*For something completely different: A pretty cool tribute out in Los Angeles for the OG Batman, Adam West, with the Batman signal shining onto LA City Hall.
