Morning Skate: Can Bruckheimer produce NHL in Seattle?

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while giving it my best shot just like Lebron James.

*Some information about the group looking to bring the NHL to the city of Seattle, which is the kind of place where it could flourish given the location and the close proximity to Canada. Interesting that Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer Is involved and could bring star power to the league, something the NHL is always interested in.

*It sounds like there is some back-and-forth wrestling over Maple Leafs hockey executive Kyle Dubas, a person of interest for the Colorado Avalanche as they look for a head of hockey operations.

*Pro Hockey Talk has a report that there have been no negotiations between the Minnesota Wild and pending restricted free agents Mikael Granlund and Nino Niederreiter.

*The Calgary Flames are in damage control after Brian Burke made a threat of relocation related to their situation with the Saddledome.

*Attention all Bruins fans: Time to direct some hate toward the Chicago Blackhawks coaching staff now that all-time B’s villain Ulf Samuelsson is reportedly getting added to the Hawks coaching staff.

*It’s a really great story that Paul Byron has found a comfortable home with the Montreal Canadiens and is flourishing there as a supporting piece to what the Habs are building up.

*TSN hockey insider Frank Seravalli has put together a list of the top-30 unrestricted free agents ready to be wooed on July 1. Drew Stafford is the only Bruins player to crack the list in the mid-20’s, so the B’s are in good shape in that department.

*For something completely different: A time for a pat on our own back as Boston is named the eighth-best city in the world.
