Tuesday, July 5: Subban embracing Nashville

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while still trying to get the sound of Demi Lovato attempting to sing “Purple Rain” out of my ears.

*It sure sounds like P.K. Subban is going to be a perfect fit for the Nashville Predators market as Canada mourns the loss of one of its most marketable players to a US market.

*Kirk Luedeke says that the Bruins still need a defenseman in the aftermath of the five year deal for David Backes.

*Sean Avery is pretty much a dink. There’s no other two ways about it with the former NHL bad boy harassing homeless people on weird snap chat storylines.

*FOH (Friend of Haggs) and PHT writer Jason Brough lists five remaining free agents that could be bargains on the market at this point.

*Josh Yohe puts together a list of questions and answers about the Pittsburgh Penguins over 4th of July weekend.

*Darren Dreger backs up what I had heard: that the Maple Leafs offered Kris Russell something in the neighborhood of four years and $17 million that the free agent turned down during negotiations.

*Jake Allen is now “the man” between the pipes for the St. Louis Blues, and ends the goaltending carousel with the Blues.

*For something completely different: in true 4th of July fashion, a bald eagles takes off and flies free from his handler during the Dodgers game in Los Angeles.
