The Bruins didn’t score in the second period of Game 1 against the Senators. That’s because they didn’t have a shot on goal.

Boston was outshot by a 12-0 margin in the period, with Bobby Ryan scoring the period’s (and, as of the second intermission, game’s) only goal after wresting a bouncing puck from Adam McQuaid.

The B’s attempted nine shots, according to the play-by-play sheet. Here is the breakdown:

Charlie McAvoy: Two shot attempts blocked, one missed
David Pastrnak: Two shot attempts blocked, one missed
Patrice Bergeron: One shot attempt blocked
John-Michael Liles: One shot attempt missed

The Bruins would go on to steal Game 1 with a two-goal effort in the third period. Frank Vatrano tied the game 4:55 into the third, with Brad Marchand scoring the game-winner with 2:33 remaining. Tuukka Rask finished the game with 25 goals on 26 shots faced.
