There was hope among Bruins fans in Boston that they would be able to gather by the thousands to watch Game 7 together at the TD Garden.

Not happening.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino confirmed to WBZ that there would be no viewing party, citing the late start time (8 p.m.). Canucks fans have watched their away games inside Rogers Arena, but Menino pointed out that those games are three hours earlier in Vancouver.

A Garden spokesperson told ESPN Boston there would be no party "due to a number of factors, fan safety being first and foremost."

The Boston Transportation Department will implement temporary parking regulations in the vicinity of North Station, the FenwayKenmore Square area and the Faneuil Hall area Wednesday night. The restrictions will be similar to those posted for Monday nights home game. The City of Boston is strongly urging hockey fans to take public transportation to celebrations in the city.
