Thursday, Nov. 3: Ducks' Bieksa still pulling the pranks

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while tipping my cap to the Chicago Cubs for vanquishing the “other” curse in Major League Baseball.

*Kevin Bieksa has always been a rugged, hard-hitting defenseman on some very good teams, but he’s also a well-established prankster wherever he goes.

*Darren Dreger said on Winnipeg radio on Wednesday that the chances of Jacob Trouba getting traded are “slim” at this point.

*FOH (Friend of Haggs) Doc Emrick reminds everybody that every day is a blessing as the NHL has been going through their Hockey Fights Cancer campaign.

*The NHL is going to be investigating the bad ice surface for the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center, according to Pro Hockey Talk.

*Craig Anderson has taken leave of the Ottawa Senators to be with his ailing wife as he battles through her own cancer diagnosis.

*In a related development to Anderson, Massachusetts native Mike Condon has been claimed on waivers by the Ottawa Senators as their No. 1 goalie takes his leave of absence.

*For something completely different: watching Theo Epstein throw back champagne with Bill Murray and announce he’s “going on a bender” after the Cubs win last night was pretty entertaining.
