BOSTON – Danny Ainge didn’t make a ton of moves this season, but it still didn’t prevent him from being one of the top vote-getters for the league’s Executive of the Year award.

Ainge finished sixth while San Antonio’s R.C. Buford was the winner with a total of 77 points which came by way of 9 first-place votes, 10 second-place votes and 2 third-place votes.

Ainge received one, first-place vote, 2, second-place votes and two, third-place votes for a total of 13 points.

First-place votes were worth five points, second-place votes were worth three points and third-place votes were valued at one point apiece.

Boston finished in a four-way tie for third-place in the Eastern Conference, winning 48 games after having won 40 last season.

Ainge’s most significant move in the offseason was the addition of Amir Johnson who signed a two-year, $24 million contract. The second year of Johnson’s contract becomes guaranteed if he’s still on the roster July 3.
