Celts have no defense for this putrid effort

Okay, it’s official.

I'm pissed. Really pissed.

I took grief over my criticism of Isaiah Thomas. Received plenty of hate after my Hawks-in-six-over-the-Celts prediction. Of course, none of that bothered me. It's an occupational hazard.

But last night's fold-the-tent-and-go-home effort by the Celtics was maddening.

What happened to the tough, gritty bunch with the “us against the world attitude”?

I can understand a more talented team like Atlanta going on a run against the Celts. But what the Celtics show me from the second quarter on was inexcusable.

After holding the Hawks to 15 in the first quarter, the Celts seemed poised to give them a game. Then Boston let Atlanta score 11 straight field goals . . . and when I say "let",  I mean the Celts didn't even try stop them.

Bazemore, Millsap, Teague, Shroder, Korver and the uncontainable Mike Scott all getting uncontested looks at the basket? Please!

In the name of Jim Loscutoff, deck somebody!! Or at the very least, guard them! Where was the defense? My son’s fifth-grade team could have scored at will last night with the Swiss cheese 'D' the Celtics played.

Just infuriating. It’s over, folks. Tomorrow night the Hawks won't lose focus like they did on Sunday.

I just hope the Celtics make them earn it. Unlike last night
