Celtics-Jazz: In the Bonus
First win on the horizon?
Well . . . somebody has to win tonight. The Jazz (0-4) come to Boston to take on the Celtics (0-4), who are looking to get coach Brad Stevens his first-ever win in the NBA. To understand in greater detail how this one will play out, check out our statistical breakdown of tonight's matchup.
HIGHEST FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE IN PAINT
Lacking a dominant low-post scorer or penetrating point guard has not been a problem for the Celtics who are shooting 58.5 percent in the paint, the fourth-best mark in the NBA.
HIGHEST BASELINE FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE
Brandon Bass along the baseline has been a huge plus for the Celtics this season. He's shooting 71.4 percent along the baseline, second only to Atlanta's Mike Scott (81.3 percent).
SETTLING FOR THE JUMPER
Playing the point has made Avery Bradley more into a jump-shooter. Jumpers account for 60.4 percent of his shots now, up from 41.8 percent last season. The percentage of his 3-point shots and dunks/layups are also down from a year ago.
GETTING TO THE RIM
Utah's Alec Burks is getting more time in part because of his aggressiveness which has been rewarded with a major spike in free throw attempts (7.3) this season compared to last season (2.0).
