Halftime stars, studs and duds: Historically bad first half for Celtics

Share

BOSTON – Here are the Stars, Studs and Duds from the first half of Game 2 between Boston and Cleveland, a game in which the Cavs have a decisive 72-31 halftime lead.

STARS

LeBron James

He leads all scorers with 22 points on 9-for-14 shooting to go with six assists and three rebounds.

Kevin Love

The Celtics continue to struggle how to limit his impact. At the half, he had 18 points and eight rebounds.

STUDS

Kyrie Irving

He was much more aggressive to start the game, and had 14 points at the half on 5-for-8 shooting.

DUDS

Celtics entire team

This was such a collective cluster-you-know-what, picking one or two or three players would not do justice to how bad Boston has played collectively. There was absolutely nothing of value the Celtics could take from their historically bad first half of play. The 41-point halftime deficit was the largest ever in a playoff game in the modern shot clock era.
