How is Isaiah Thomas just like Steph Curry? Confidence

NEW ORLEANS – Isaiah Thomas isn’t seen on the same level as Golden State’s Stephen Curry, but there’s one area in which the two seem to be equals – confidence.

A big part of Thomas’ big shot-making is because he feels he’s the best player on the floor and tries to drive that point home in the fourth quarter of games, which is when he has been at his best all season.

But even before things get to that point, Thomas does enough to where his on-the-court swagger is undeniable.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who is also coaching the West All-Stars, detailed some of the challenges Thomas can present to a team’s defense.

“It’s a great combination of skill, strength, even for a little guy...he’s a fire hydrant,” Kerr said. “You can’t move him. And when he gets past you, when he gets you on his hip, you can’t catch up. He’s strong.

Kerr added, “And then he’s got supreme confidence. He’s like Steph Curry in that regard. He thinks every shot is going in. When you get that combination, with a guy and he finds his groove, he’s almost impossible to stop.”
