BOSTON -- Nenad Krstic was looking pretty happy for someone whose season was in question just four days ago.

Turns out, the injury he suffered against the San Antonio Spurs looked a lot worse than it actually felt. Krstic was trying to stop after running full speed to the basket on Thursday night. He says he was pushed from behind and his right knee went in and out a little bit.

On Saturday a negative MRI revealed what Krstic had thought - there was no serious damage. He was diagnosed with a bone bruise and listed as day-to-day.

Krstic considered playing on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons and is hopeful to play on Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

I tried to run Sunday and do some stuff with the basketball and I was feeling pretty good, but some of the movements, like when I hyperextended my knee and leg, I still had sharp pains, he told CSNNE.com. And that was only me doing it, not with any contact. So thats why I was thinking maybe get through practice Monday and feel more comfortable.

This injury is minor for the big man who suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the 2007-08 season with the New Jersey Nets. After enduring such severe pain in the past, he knew this injury wasnt to the same extent. He thought, worst case scenario, a torn meniscus.

Krstic is following a treatment regimen that includes icing and massage. He feels spasms in the muscles around his knee which prevents him from hyperextending it without discomfort.

But he'll take it, knowing it could have been a lot worse.

I still feel pain, but Im really happy its nothing serious, he said.
