NBA 2K18 will indeed feature Kyrie Irving in a Celtics uniform

UPDATE, AUG. 24, 3 P.M.: 2K Games will indeed release an updated cover with Kyrie Irving in a Celtics uniform, Jason Argent, senior vice president of basketball operations for 2K, told GameInformer.com:

"We are excited to be part of one of the most memorable NBA offseasons in history with Kyrie, our 2K18 cover athlete, and Isaiah, one of the stars of our 2K roster, trading places. This isn't an unprecedented event, a cover athlete being traded - but it's certainly interesting timing with 2K18 being released in less than a month. The good news is that as the most authentic and realistic basketball game on the market, we're used to being nimble and responding to changes in the NBA. Fans should be thrilled to know that we will issue a version of 2K18 featuring Kyrie in a Boston Celtics uniform at a later date."

The NBA 2K18 video game earlier this month tweeted out its new cover.

Time to revise it.

After the trade of Kyrie Irving to the Celtics, in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and a first-draft pick, 2K Games will have to change the cover. No word yet if it will feature Irving, this time his "new" new Celtics uniform.

Through Wednesday afternoon, a retweet of the 2K18 cover was the last thing Irving had sent out on Twitter on Aug. 7

After the trade Tuesday, NBA 2K18 was quick to tweet out I.T. in his new Cavs duds.
