German forward Daniel Theis has yet to play a game for the Celtics, after signing a two-year deal with Boston in June, but he made quite an impression on NBA forward Boris Diaw on Saturday.
Theis posterized Diaw with this dunk in leading Germany to an 84-81 upset of Diaw's France team in the Eurobasket tournament round of 16 in Helsinki. (h/t to @draftprosnba)
Theis, 25, 6-8, 243 pounds, scored 22 points on 8-for-9 shooting and had seven rebounds as Germany reached the quarterfinals of the tournament for the first time since 2007.
Last season, Theis averaged 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds for Brose Bamberg of Germany, while shooting 41 percent from 3-point range and 64.5 percent on two-point attempts.
