BOSTONEven with all the injuries, with all the potential distractions, Paul Pierce was once again giving the Boston Celtics whatever they needed to be successful.

He was honored for his play by being named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-7 forward led the C's to a perfect 4-0 record, averaging 21.8 points while shooting 58.7 percent from the field.

And while several players have stepped their game up lately, Pierce's play continues to stand out.

But as well as the Celtics have played, you don't get the sense that Pierce or his teammates are satisfied with their play.

"We're definitely not where we want to be, but we're grinding it out," Pierce said. "Any way we can get the win, we'll take it. We're just finding ways to win."
