Report: NBA ‘reviewing' Game 3 exchange between Thomas and fan

The NBA is looking into a reportedly profane exchange between Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas and a fan at the Verizon Center in Washington during the C's Game 3 loss in their playoff series with the Wizards on Thursday night, Boston.com reported.

“We are aware and reviewing,” NBA spokesman Tim Frank told Boston.com.

The Big Lead reported about the exchange Monday night and included an Instagram post with a video of the exchange, which appears to show Thomas telling the fan, “I will f— you up, and you know that” after the fan tells Thomas to “take his toothless ass back to Boston.”

Celtics guard Marcus Smart was fined $25,000 by the NBA for making an obscene gesture at a fan at TD Garden in Game 2 of Boston's first-round loss to the Chicago Bulls.

The Celtics and Wizards play Game 5 tonight at the Garden. The series is tied at 2.
