Report: Paul George telling friends he intends to be a Laker in 2018

The Lakers have their eyes on 2018 as NBA free agency begins tonight at midnight. New president of basketball operations Magic Johnson isn't expected to be in on any of the big names available this summer.

But about Paul George next year? The Los Angeles Times reports that the Indiana Pacers forward from Palmdale, Calif., 63 miles from L.A., is still telling friends he intends to be a Laker in 2018. Next summer, LeBron James and newly-minted MVP Russell will also be available. Time for Magic to form a super team?

The Celtics, of course, have targeted George in trade talks with Indiana, despite his longing to be a Laker. The question is would they take him for one year before he heads for L.A. or can Boston land him and sign him to an extension?
