The thought of Rajon Rondo teaming up with Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh could sound like a nightmare to Boston Celtics fans.
But dont worry, its all for a good cause.
Rondo is one of several players expected to play in The South Florida All-Star Classic on Saturday, October 8, according to ESPN.com. The game, scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. at Florida International Universitys U.S. Century Bank Arena, will support the educational community in South Florida.
In addition to the Heats trio, Rondo is slated to be joined by Carmelo Anthony, Eric Bledsoe, Caron Butler, Mario Chalmers, Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, Kevin Durant, Johnny Flynn, Rudy Gay, Joe Johnson, Wesley Matthews, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire, John Wall, Russell Westbrook, Lou Williams and Dorell Wright. Rookies Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson are also possibilities to play.
According to the report, the players will be split into Brand Jordan and Nike squads. Wade, Anthony, and Paul will headline the Brand Jordan team, which is expected to be coached by comedian Kevin Hart, while James, Durant, and Bosh will headline the Nike team, coached by rapper Rick Ross.
This summer Rondo was featured in The Foot Locker Advantage Academy promoting Nike gear. For more on his Nike campaign, click here.
The South Florida All-Star Classic is one of many games Rondo has participated in during the NBA lockout. In August, he played for the University of Kentucky Pros against the Dominican Republic National Team. This Friday, he is expected to play in Atlantas Southern Hospitality Showcase, organized by former teammate Marquis Daniels.
