Is the Boston Media too harsh on players?

Thin skinned. Divas. Just a few words that Bob Neumeier used to describe how the Red Sox. It has always been said that not everybody can handle playing in the Boston sports market.

Some will say the media is to blame for a lot of pressure on the players. The big question is, is the Boston media too harsh on the players?

Even people in the media know that sometimes it may be a little much on the players.

"Nobody likes to be criticized, we all understand that. If you are a professional athlete that doesn't immunize against that." said Dan Shaugnessy. "It matters what you do here if you play for the Red Sox. You are in a market where it matters. . . It's not a good situation. It's a competitive media with a lot of noise and overreaction. Everyone who has come through town has talked about it."
