If you were holding on to hope that the Red Sox were about to turn it around, no one would blame you if you started to slowly creep towards that panic button.
Clay Buchholz was brilliant, going seven innings, allowing only an unearned run. It looked like he was going to get the Red Sox back in the win column, leaving with a 2-1 lead.
Enter the bullpen.
Andrew Miller quickly gave up the tying run in the eighth without recording an out and was pulled in favor of Alfredo Aceves.
Aceves worked out of the eighth with the score tied, 2-2.
Pedro Ciriaco, the Little Engine that Could, cranked a pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the eighth, giving the Red Sox a lead and continuing the fantastic run he's been on since being called up to Boston. The Sox tacked on an insurance run when Cody Ross singled in Dustin Pedroia, who had been hit by a pitch and stole second.
But in the ninth it all came undone.

The Twins picked up a quick run and threatened to tie the game with two on and two out. Joe Mauer took Aceve's 3-2 pitch over the Monster, giving the Twins a 6-4 win and sending the Sox to their fourth loss in a row.
