CSN Stats: Pomeranz's performance in Boston hasn't been how they Drew it up

The Red Sox return to Fenway Park tonight and Drew Pomeranz returns to the mound. And neither is coming in on a high note.

The Sox limp back home after losing three of four in Detroit, including a frustrating 2-1 defeat Monday is which they wasted a superlative pitching performance by Chris Sale. The pitcher they'll send to the mound for the opener of their two-game series against the Orioles, Drew Pomeranz, was placed on the disabled list late in spring training because of a left forearm flexor strain and his physical condition is, well, unknown heading into the game.

Beyond that, Pomeranz hasn't been the pitcher the Red Sox thought they were getting when they picked him from the Padres last July. Take a look at his numbers in San Diego prior to the trade and his numbers in Boston after it:

And what happened during spring training can't fill you with confidence . . . 

Will he reverse the trend tonight? We shall see.

Certainly he'll need more offensive help than Sale got from his teammates Monday in Detroit, but one he may be able to count on is Mitch Moreland. He's heated up nicely after a slow start:
