Has Gonzalez been a disappointment in Boston?

Adrian Gonzalez was an expensive acquisition for the Red Sox. The organization shipped off a gaggle of promising prospects and handed Gonzo a 7-year, 154 million contract extension soon thereafter.

He had a strong year last year, but faded (along with the rest of his teammates) down the stretch. He's continued to stumble this season, hitting just .240. Yesterday, he hit what seemed to hit a low point striking out against Orioles first baseman Chris Davis in the 17th inning when the Red Sox needed a rally.
