Papelbon suspension reduced to two games

BOSTON -- Jonathan Papelbon appealed his three-game suspension forbumping the home plate umpire on June 4, which resulted in the firstejection of his career, and found out Friday it was reduced to twogames, which he will serve Friday and Saturday. For him, the processwas worthwhile.

"Yeah I think so," he said. "Theres always gotto be a process and I think the process was done very well and veryfair for both sides and when the thing first happened I got to own upto it and I did. So now the consequencesare set.

Papelbon said he thought the penatly was fair, and wanted to learn from it.

"Yeah, just like a kid," he said. "If its hot dont touch it."
