Red Sox continue road dominance, 5-3 in Chicago

CHICAGO -- The Red Sox' early-season road woes are a thing of the past.

Dustin Pedroia's two-run single in the top of the seventh proved to be the difference in the Red Sox' 5-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, giving the Sox the series and their fourth straight road series win and seventh straight road trip win.

Adrian Gonzalez delivered a run-scoring double in the ninth inning.

Since beginning the year 0-7 on the road, the Red Sox are 33-14 away from home.

Alfredo Aceves, who pitched an inning in relief of starter Andrew Miller (three runs on 10 hits in 5 23 innings), earned the win to improve to 7-1.

Daniel Bard pitched an inning and a third in relief, extending his club record for consecutive scoreless innings to 26 13 innings. Jonathan Papelbon pitched the ninth for his 24th save.

The Sox had taken a 2-0 lead with Jason Vartiek's two-run homer in the second. The White Sox added solo runs in the second, third and fourth.
