Red Sox continue to roll, beat Blue Jays, 5-1

TORONTO -- The Red Sox road show rolled on Friday night, using a familiar formula -- get an early lead and let the pitching take care of the rest.

Clay Buchholz, pitching with extra rest after some concerns over a stiff back, limited the Toronto Blue Jays to a single run over seven innings and got early run support for a 5-1 Red Sox victory.

The Sox have are 4-0 to start their tour of three A.L. East cities and have won seven in a row overall.

Boston pushed across two runs in the third and two more in the fifth off Toronto starter JoJo Reyes. An infield single by Dustin Pedroia (two hits, on base three times) and a double play produced the first two runs.

Run-scoring singles by Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Youkilis accounted for the final two Sox runs. Gonzalez has now knocked in at least one run in seven straight games, a career high for the first baseman.

Gonzalez added an RBI-double in the eighth, giving him 57 RBI in 63 games.

Daniel Bard took care of a scoreless eighth and Jonathan Papelbon had a rare efficient inning in a non-save situation.
