The Red Sox All-Time vs Cleveland: 954-1015-8

In Cleveland: 438-544-3

The Red Sox are still looking for their first win after dropping the first three in Texas to start the season. It's the first time the Sox have started the season 0-3 since 1996, when they began 0-5.

In 2004 and 2007, the Red Sox lost three of their first five games. Both seasons ended with them as World Series Champions.

The Red Sox and Indians split the 2010 season, 4-4. Boston hasn't lost a season's series to the Tribe since losing four of seven games in 2006.

With three RBI on Saturday night, Red Sox DH David Ortiz moved into first place all-time in career RBI's (1,004) passing Edgar Martinez (1,003) for most ever at the position.

Red Sox pitchers allowed 11 home runs over their three-game Opening Series in Texas, the most in the Majors so far. It also tied an MLB record for the most runs in the first three games of a team's season with the 1955 Milwaukee Braves.

Red Sox relief pitcher Dennys Reyes is the first Red Sox left-hander since 1919 to pitch in each of the first three games on consecutive days while giving up no runs.

Beckett on the mound
Josh Beckett has been the Red Sox' Opening Day starter for the last two seasons, but will start in Boston's fourth game this season.

Beckett had a rather forgettable spring, posting a 1-4 record and a 5.33 ERA (215 ER25.1 IP) but struck out 19 batters, a team high.

Josh Beckett vs. CLE last season: 1-0, 1.13 ERA (1 ER8.0 IP) in 1 GS.

Josh Beckett vs. CLE career: 3-4 5.56 ERA (27 ER43.2 IP) in 7 GS.

Beckett has at least one strikeout in each of his 249 career MLB games since 9401, the longest active streak in the Majors and 9th longest overall since 1919.
