The Red Sox have recalled pitcher Alfredo Aceves from Triple-A Pawtucket. Aceves was scheduled to pitch the season opener for the Pawtucket Red Sox on Thursday night but was scratched.
The Red Sox also placed pitcher Matt Albers on the disabled list with a sore lat muscle.
