Report: Ortiz wants to return to Boston

David Ortiz says he wants to be back in Boston, but didn't say what it would take to keep him there.

According to an ESPNBoston.com report by Joe McDonald, the jovial Red Sox' DH spoke to his ability to handle the pressure of Boston as one of the reasons for the Sox to bring him back.

"What people don't realize is that this is a tough place to play," said Ortiz. "Playing here is tough and when you have a player who knows how to handle his business here, that's a keeper. As long as that player is providing what you ask him for, and I'm not just talking about my situation, but about things in general. But we'll see."

Recent signings like Carl Crawford and John Lackey have struggled in the high-scrutiny market, proving Ortiz' point.

Ortiz said there have not yet been any negotiations with the club.
