ANAHEIM -- The Red Sox announced Thursday that, as expected, Alfredo Aceves had been sent to Pawtucket to make room on the roster for reliever Matt Albers, who was activated off the disabled list.
Manager Francona confirmed that Aceves will be in the Pawtucket starting rotation, stretched out in case the Sox need reinforcements for their own starters.
